Breath one two... Exhale one two..
More snow for Sudbury today! I continue to read the Roizen and Oz book on Extending
your warranty. There are more and more eye opening facts in this book that really are not that difficult to implement. When
you have an explanation for why something is not good for you and how you can improve the situation for your benefit written
in plain language with a bouncy writing style and humorous cartoons it seems three important things happen: 1. You remember,
2 you feel motivated to act, and 3. You feel empowered. See the simple reference below regarding proper breathing. The health
benefits are too numerous to mention however I was amazed by this nugget of information.
Its a gas; man: Breath
deeply through your nose and you too can reap the rewards of Nitric-Oxide. A neurotransmitter that affects the vaso-dialation
of your blood vessels i.e. makes you feel good. A main problem with people today is that they don't take the time to breathe
properly. Nitric oxide only exists for a few seconds and thus if you don't use it you lose it. It is produced in
the upper nasal passage. Try this: take a deep deep breath through your nose; feel the lungs almost get tickled; that is the
nitric oxide apparently. Read more at You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for extending your warranty by Michael F. Roizenand Mehmet C. Oz; both Doctors.

Winter in Sudbury...Good time to read!
We are having a real Sudbury winter this year. The ice has been extremely bad over the past 2 months and I think the orthopedic
surgeons are working a lot of overtime. Yesterday I watched a man walk his dog on the lake with his car. He drove a ways and
then slowed down to let the dog catch up. Eventually the dog convinced his master to let him in to the car and they drove
off on the ice. And to think all these years I've been doing it the hard way. I don't blame him in a way since you
can almost skate on the sidewalks. I am currently reading You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for extending your warranty by Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz. There is a lot of information in this book. The information
is very welcome in terms of getting a focus on healthy living. It is presented in a lively in-your-face style with no-holds-barred.
Their presentation style really seems to work as it is effective in making you remember the details. The many diagrams have
a lot of character (and cartoon type characters) in them that make learning not only easier but fun. The optimism of the two
doctors is infectious. They truly believe that no matter how late in life you start taking measures to improve your health
that you can see improvements in quality of life. They cover mental functioning as well as physical ailments and especially
practical lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference. Stay tuned for more on this book on The Old Sudbury Bookstore

The Evolution of a bookstore continues...
Hello all. I have been adding to the information base stored in this bookstore. I am adding quotes that I found in the books
that I have read and trying to keep everything referenced and linked properly. It is certainly exciting to be able to start
this online associate bookstore. No telling where it will lead and what amazing books I will find out about and read and review
for the site. My goal is still about a book a month. Currently I am reading "You: Staying Young: The Owner's
Manual for Extending Your Warranty" By Michael F. Roizen, Mehmet C. Oz. There is a lot to learn here and the drawings
in this book seem to be designed to increase the chances you will remember. They include very important items regarding how
to win the battle against disease and aging. The book is available at Amazon.ca All the best -sak.
